Background of the Study
Healthcare delivery in remote areas of Nigeria has historically faced numerous challenges, including poor infrastructure, lack of medical professionals, and limited access to essential health services. Gusau Local Government Area in Zamfara State, which includes both urban and remote communities, is no exception to these challenges. The local government has introduced several initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery in remote areas, such as mobile health clinics, the construction of primary healthcare centers, and health education programs.
Despite these efforts, access to quality healthcare in remote areas of Gusau LGA remains a pressing issue. This study will evaluate the effectiveness of local government initiatives in improving healthcare delivery in the region, particularly in remote and underserved communities.
Statement of the Problem
Although local government initiatives in Gusau LGA have aimed to improve healthcare services, challenges such as inadequate funding, shortage of healthcare workers, and limited access to medical facilities persist. The study seeks to evaluate the impact of these initiatives and identify ways to improve healthcare delivery in remote areas.
